"Watch out! Milly'll mow you down!" Mum shouted to me. I couldn't move because of the gate...Milly, a hyperactive foal and now quite big, barged into me and knocked me over..It went all black... 'I can hear someone's voice...I know that voice...where do I know it from?'
"Do you think she's o.k Agumon?"
"How would I know? Do you know her?"
'Those..those voices...I DO know them..but..that can't be..'
"Hey! She's coming round! Are you o.k miss? What's your name?"
I could see Tai and Agumon looking down at me. My vision could never be this fuzzy in a dream, surely..
"What's going on...Tai's voice?" I started to get up and someone helped me..another familiar voice..
"Are you o.k? You've been unconscious for at least an hour. Did..you just say TAI'S voice?!" As my eyes came into focus properly I could see a ring of people..five people watching and the two beside me..and I know them ALL..
"N-no! Imean no..I said A voice..I uh..um..." Matt was kneeling next to me with Tai on the other side..
'I can't let them know I know all about Digiworld...They'll freak out and they might think it was me who got them stuck here..I better pretend I don't have the slightest clue as to what's going on..shouldn't be too hard right about now..'
"My head..where am I? Who are you people?!" I was attempting to sound confused and upset.
"You're in the Digiworld!" Biyomon answered me with her usual cheeriness. I pretended to look amazed that a talking, pink bird with red claws had just spoke to me by going silent. Biyomon continued to explain oblivious of my 'I'm so stunned' look, which I actually glad of.
"According to Izzy over here..." she waved in Izzy's direction and he looked up from his computer and nodded at me.."Digiworld is a shadow world of Earth. And we're Digimon by the way. Are you the Eighth Digidestined?"
"No." Seeing their surprised looks I added "What?" They all looked relieved to hear the 'What?' as if they were dying to explain the meaning of life. Everyone looked at Izzy. He looked annoyed and then looked at me and began talking.
"Gennai told us that there is an Eighth Digidestined. We're the Digidestined and we have to save the Digital world in order to save our own. And Digi-world is a huge computer program." He really did sound like he was explaining the meaning of life and that everything should make sense to me now. It already did so I nodded and gave him my best smile.
"I see." Why this response seemed good enough I'll never know. Sora spoke next.
"So what's your name? Where do you come from? You've got a digi-vice right?"
"Well...my name is..Aelina..well..my handle is Aelina. I don't like my real name." Izzy looked at me and smiled. "I come from Lowton in England..." They all looked depressed. "..and I don't have a..OH!" Clipped onto my jeans was a digivice..and round my neck was an empty tag "I guess I DO have a digivice...and a tag...no cr..thing else though.." Matt helped me to my feet. Then Tai started talking to me again.
"How did you know what we meant by digivice? You seem to be taking this very well." Izzy replied before I could open my mouth.
"It's elementary Tai, what else could we be refering to?"
"Elementary my dear Watson?" Izzy stared at me "Er..sorry bad joke..Shouldn't we get going somewhere?" I wanted to get moving. There had obviously been a battle soon before I got here, whenever and however that was. There had benn forest there, but now it was charred and all the trees for about ten metres were broken. I turned to Matt and started talking, they'd forgotten to introduce themselves, but it didn't matter of course. I was sticking with Matt until I had my own Digimon. If I ever got my own Digimon. Kari isn't here yet. No wonder they asked about the 8th digidestined and looked depressed when I said I was from England..
"Big battle huh?" I wasn't sure what to say, but I knew I wanted to talk to them all. Especially Matt.
"Yeah." It looked like Matt wasn't sure about what to say either. I hoped I wasn't bugging him. That was the last thing I wanted to do. To my relief he carried on talking, "You see, there are evil Digimon here. We have to fight them if we encounter them. But it was worse a while back, there were these black gears that made good digimon into bad digimon and we kept running into geared digimon..."
We were walking for quite some time with everyone talking to me. Mimi and Izzy had been looking at me, but not talking much. Izzy was dying to ask me a question.
"So you've got the internet? What kind of sites do you go on? Have you got a website?" I'd never heard Izzy sound so enthusiastic in the episodes I'd seen.
"Er..yes I've got the internet...I go on Di..Sailor Moon sites, Anime sites in general..and my website is about..anime. Yeah. With my art on it." I was really hoping they didn't ask 'what kind of anime?'. Lucky for me, they didn't. Mimi was looking at me critically.
"How come your hair's purple? Don't you think it would look better up?" I was genuinely surprised for the first time..It WAS purple..
"So it is...it's dark brown really. But I dyed it bright red a bit ago. I can't stand having my hair up" Mimi took a big breath to start telling me what would look nice if I did this with my hair(I have a sixth sense for these things) but Matt saved me.
"What's it like in England?" I'd been walking next to Matt since we set off. He'd not said a whole lot though. The Digimon weren't really that interested in me either.
"Boring and dull" I replied as I usually do to anyone who asks me that "and you can't find decent anime anywhere." Matt looked amused at this.
"You can't? Why is that?" Matt seemed to think something was funny and was smiling. I was starting to blush and trying desperatly not to.
"Well..anime and manga aren't popular in England...what's so funny?"
"What?" Matt was trying not to laugh. I was getting annoyed.
"What's so fuuny?! Think i'm a quaint english person or something?! Is it my accent?!" The others were staring at me.
"No, it's just...do you hear something?" Tai pointed at something in the sky and yelled
"Flymon's back!" Matt grabbed me and dragged me to the ground.
"That's one of the evil digimon I was telling you about! Since you don't have a Digimon to protect you..." His voice trailed off...all the digimon had digivolved..I saw a light..
"What?! My tag is glowing!" The floor beneath us started to glow and then it disappeared..me and Matt fell into a dark hole...
It wasn't too long a drop so I didn't get hurt too badly, but..
"Matt is that you?"
"Yeah..er..Aelina..?"
"Kindly put your hand somewhere else..."
"...s..sorry!" I could have sworn I saw a red glow in the gloom. "I didn't mean..I'm sorry!.."
"Er..it's o.k.." I needed to think..'stuck down a hole with Matt..didn't a have a conversation with Elle about this? It appears to be less fun than we thought..' I shook my head at myself.."Talk about be careful what you wish for.."
"Huh?"
'oops'. I rallied:
"Hey...where's Gabumon?" My eyes had adjusted to the gloom and it wasn't actually too hard to see "My crest...I found my crest! The Crest of Harmony!"
"He mustn't have fallen down with us...we've got to get out of here..Hey, how did you know.."

"Did you hear that, Matt?" Matt had crouched down and was listening hard..I crouched down to..
"Matt..aaarrgh!" Something shot out at us..I blacked out..
When I awoke I could see I was in a room...a cave that was sparkling..there were millions of tiny multicoloured crystals in the walls. I couldn't find where the light was coming from...it was as though the walls had a glow of their own. I got up..
"Two blackouts in one day...great...Matt? MATT! Where are you?!"
There was a man stood on the opposite side of the room...he had black hair and he was wearing....jeans...it was Matt..
"M..Matt? Are you o.k?" He was just stood there, like he was waiting for something...

"Science is dull. It says a whole bunch of stuff is impossible. But right now I guess I wish Digi-world was a little more scientific..."

"Screw you to!" I ran through the cave and into...my yard..'This is impossible! Does this mean I never left home after all?' I was on my own farm. The buildings were there, all the stables, my house...
WE TOLD YOU YOU COULD HAVE A HEAD START. BUT THIS IS NOT YOUR REAL HOME. IT IS SIMPLY A COPY ON THE POINT WHERE THE SPIRIT LINES TOUCH YOUR HOME.
"Right then...I've got an advantage" Matt materialised next to the porta cabin. I was standing right next to the biggest building. I climbed over the pile of flags and hid behind the building where I could see Matt. He looked around and to my horror, headed straight towards me. I went further along behind the building and looked out at my uncle's field. 'Well this worked in a dream I had where Izzy had turned evil and was after me...' I climbed on the fence and leapt as far into the long grass as possible.(No really..I had a dream like that!) I lay as still as I could but I was breathing hard and my heart felt like a hammer in my chest. Matt came round the corner and climbed over the flags...I was nearly choking. He looked straight at me...but not at me, something was running up the field through the long grass...I panicked and ran. Matt practially leapt over the fence from a standing start and ran after me. He caught up and I went to ground to try and defend myself.
"I suck at this! I always hated tag...couldn't they have made me beat him up on DarkStalkers instead?!" Matt had one of my arms pinned, but struggling to pin the other one that was against his chin.
"Being as I'm the vampire here, I.."
"DON'T YOU DARE SAY IT!! You've managed no annoying vampire puns so far don't start now!"
"You don't think you can actually win, do you? I can easily beat a girl."
"GIRL?!" This sort of thing makes me mad "I'll give you easily beat a girl!! I'm not taking that kind of rubbish from a polymorph spell!" I managed to free my other arm and force Matt back. "Besides, I've got to win else we're both done for! You've got to break the mental part of the spell, Matt! My arms are killing me..." I stood up but Matt grabbed me and twisted my arm behind my back.
"Good I hope this doesn't help."
"FLARE ARROWS!" Something hit Matt and smacked him into the wall, through the fence.
"What the..? Sphinikmon?!"
"That's me. Don't bother explaining how you knew, I already know."
"But I..how?"
"Hey, I'm your Digimon, right?!"
"Really? ALRIGHT!"
"What're you waiting for, we gotta get out of here!"
"But...Matt...We can't just leave him here."
"We can if that polymorph spell hasn't worn off."
SPHINIKMON! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
Sphinikmon looked annoyed and yelled at the sky.
"You idiots! Can't you see these are Digi-destined?!" Matt got up shakily from the floor.
"What are you looking at me like that for? What happened? Who's this?" Sphinikmon drew herself up and looked annoyed.
"I, Mr. I'm-so-hot-cuz-I'm-a-Digi-destined am Sphinikmon the Guardian of the Spirit Lines Temple."
YES. AND YOU'RE ALSO VERY ANNOYING.
"And the voice is one of the Caretakers of the Spirit Lines. The Spirit Lines exist in many different dimensions, but they can be a physical thing in this one, because of it's very nature. And I'm also Aelinee's Digi-partner! Isn't that nice? 'course it is. C'n we go now then Mr-lets-pretend-we're-omnipresent-to-impress-people?" I liked Sphinikmon already. I laughed and smiled at her.
"Do you do that to everyone?"
"No. Jus' people who annoy me."
AS AELINA PUT IT 'SCREW YOU TOO' NOW LEAVE BEFORE YOU ANNOY ME ANY FURTHER. SPHINIKMON CAN USE THE LINES TO TRANSPORT YOU BACK TO THE SURFACE.
We materialised next to the spot where we fell through the hole. There were scorch marks on the ground and a couple of trees were smashed. But there was no-one in sight.
"Guess we'll have to catch up with them then, huh you two?"
And so we end up in a threesome, just me, Matt and Spinikmon...how convenient..
